Let your tired eyes Swim down in my river of tears. I have cried this current for you, For your gaze to swim, beneath the sun. Will we, one day lie down To speak of the stars? Will we, one day seat ourselves Upon the thrones of Heaven? I want you, in arms that stretch across fields, Being your form. I want to lay your face against mine, To hold each tear that does not stray. Let your tired eyes abandon the miles, For I have taken them from your path. Let love do its work To see you able, to make this fable Of endearment in worriment's place. I wish to hold your eyes in mine, Sculpting old images out of new ones, Throwing new oceans into old deserts, Folding hands around trembling forms, So that the sun can wield the universe.
