Watch as the sun sets, Watch as her eyes close Against the sheltering sky, As her remaining breath waters my eyes. Watch as I loosen my grasp To set her into the sea, While my tears make the ocean move, Among my sobs, With a hurricane of grief. I wanted her in the Earth, In my heart, Where a void rests, Pulsating without reason, Without excuse, Without a need to move. She falls to the sand, to the bottom Of one pit of loneliness. I see where her eyes closed, I see where my light froze, As I kneel to drink Both tears and herself, Where both had fallen.
