Poem – “When Dams Are Rebuilt” – 7/28/2023

Find a way
far away
from those mountains,
where ice let you slip,
where avalanches
reminded you of pain.

Find another path,
see another start
in the sunlight.
Drift from moonlight,
wander down
to those docks,

seeing a ship float in,
welcoming a feeling
coming in, seating it in
your favorite spot.

Let love run through
hollow veins, riding on a horse
with summer at its reins.

Let tears come down
with sweetest taste,
in a better state.
