You’ve emptied me,
as I lay here, sprawling.
I’ve remembered you
as you are covered in ash.
You are deformed,
in your hollowness,
with tears decorating miles.
Your frozen eyes,
a stillness that matches
where you are standing.
There is ice
roping your feet,
leashing your pace
into an eternal footprint.
You do not move.
You remain steady,
having me, to be
your constant observer.
I funnel apart from this
an ocean that never settled,
never calmed.
I represent from this,
a teardrop that fell
from among countless leaves.
