Give deep breaths,
present channeled expressions
of envious, sideways looks
down the throats of two
who were stargazed.
Their purple sunsets
have dropped, with curtains
stopping all remaining light.
Sell their night,
with their hearts
seeded by the moon.
Kisses come back
into surrounding dark.
They’ve held hands,
for as long
as eternity remembers,
just as they have swelled
their years to fullness,
with gravity bringing them down
for a moment of tireless passion.
Down to their graves,
only sadness will be saved,
while veins of hope creep in,
under winter’s entrance,
it’s forgiving embrace.
