Poem – “Your Love for Stillness” – 9/11/2023

Dilated pupils.
There’s a void
where you surround yourself
in white markings,

petals of a fallen conception.

I have answered you,
while you have remembered
one other time,
making this another time
to fold a spoken promise,
into a predicted deception.

Fragile one,
come climbing
onto that dark horse
that will send you surging.

Will you run free
with blinding wind,
carrying your tears
to fill your depth?

It is those spaces no one ever
bothered to let stain their skin.

In pain, with you,
for I have answered you.
I have placed a ring
for your surroundings,

of weather that never calms,
of winter, of summer,
of dualities that never unbind.

I have blended in with you,
coming to terms with yourself;

but are these shadows enough
to console your reflections?
