Poem – “Forever’s Rain” – 2/25/2024

Imploring for
a rewinding encore,
after diving in after
your hand, in that push
for another minute more.

For further time
in space, kissing diamonds
far from your face.

You've been crying
underneath those tatters
that shield disconnected eyes.

Begging after
repetition's harmony
to replace your tragedy.
I come, again,
to signal you to cross.

Into these arms,
you can be buried.
You can rest,
you can undress
your disguise of distress.

To tend to you,
when summer grows in
longer rays from Heaven.

To laugh with you,
inside this display
of infinite color.
