We are two
to dissect, to undo
what knots kept us
closer to an appearance
of monochrome,
among a winter sky.
We shed shades,
divorcing our scars
to turn them into ridges,
with deepest valleys
filed with hope's
starlit decadence.
I want us to be there,
to be everywhere,
thriving within horizons
with signals, rapid,
even in the wind,
even if we rescind
to seek solace.
We are about how
we are choosing to live,
telling us apart
even in the dark.
Wide-eyed, not deprived
of what we have been
begging for, digging after
among our trials.
We'll keep going
while our worlds collide,
dragging our skies
into the open
to find thunder,
to want connection
in an instant.
