Poem – “You Were Waiting for It” – 6/12/2025

Entering back into truce,
while firmly able to
explicitly deduce
your coming command
to see me surrendering,
while I’ll be deserting
the final remaining
tears for tear stains.

I’ve been melting
to be back here,
to be there with you.
But you are receiving
this desperation
with more to break
into two parts
from one heart.

You’ve saved nothing
except for your anticipation
to collect fragments
of one who is subscribing,
after years of bellowing
the screams of one
who’s been surviving.

A shell is being covered
with the color of white,
representing all hues,
with no more shade
to fall back to.

There’s no more shelter
to seek comfort within,
while I come forth
to step in puddles.

I’m stepping towards
the rediscovered one
sealing my fate,
after unsealing my mind.
