Poem – “When Light Blends In” – 6/18/2025

Overwrite the seal
of a heart, inside its own
Makeshift ideal.
There’s more to bring
when light is on its way
to let lovers sing.

Merge endless skin,
an ocean’s connection
with distance, as its
following banner.

For we’ve too long
hoped to want this,
added layers
to our fortitude.

Let linger our sounds
this time, around
the waves that pick up
our concert of ecstasy.

Let limits leave,
while vows are encased
in bottomless shells,
covering our time
in this corner,
combining our worlds
into forever.

I’ve ached to know
when we’ll see this,
Heaven’s old glow
on our undressed,
wanted forms.

Now when it’s here,
eclipses are replaced
with the clearest weather.

There’ll be nothing leftover
to be anguished over,
to be taken under.
