There are moments
I dearly wish to see the eyes
That kept me in comfort.
Those were the eyes I found to be brighter
Than the very sun,
Though, I could see them.
I was not blinded to them,
I was not withheld from looking
Upon the iris, nor the dark pupil.
In these moments,
In the memories
Of how you appeared
To me,
I reawaken my pain.
I reawaken the sting
That burns my chest to a boil,
That releases tears down upon my cheeks,
Like two sparkling streams
Down to my open mouth.
I wish to taste what I have felt,
The bitterness, and the hopes,
The dreams
That are now crushed.
