Poem – “My Close Disregard” – Romance – 4/4/2020

I have wished
That this garden would tell me more
Than all I have ever thought was close
To me.
Just another kiss,
Can I beg for it?

Your stare shifts
Under my gaze.
Do I appear ominous?
Am I holding the love you want?

Nothing so close,
Has been so close,
As my closest disregard.
My doubt
Is a place,
A garden of distance.

Can I kiss
The area beneath your nose
And above your chin,
Without the disease to spread?

There has been pain,
So much pain,
Since the world will deny us
Any moment, together.
Lips crossed,
Like a savior has never died.
