Long since I’ve known you,
To see the books upon the shelves in your mind,
To know that you have no pages alike
The women across the lane,
The women across the meadow,
Nor the women across the whole of Earth.
You are no one’s equal,
Drowned, as you are, in my current of endearing
Love and hope.
I have lifted you,
Like reaching for the one I will want
To be with, in arms, for life.
Love is for no tears upon our eyes,
Love is for no pain to be unleashed,
Nor for goodbyes,
To be released
From lips meant to be kissed.
