Poem – “An Ode to Loneliness” – Romance – 8/7/2020

Currents befall the stark wilderness
Changing seasons in felled loneliness.
I grew my pledge from a covered thorn
Drew my knife in fields so worn.

The slaughter I suffered in kinship
Makes sadness remember in friendship.
Love lies on lakes that hurl
The giants to the bested pearl.

She knew my mockery to be plenty,
With roses that grew so empty.
Lore fixated in timeless books
Shields captivation in godly looks.

Fields asleep where dreams collide,
In nameless nights where day subsides.
Love blows candles free from light,
With eyes torn shut to blossomed spite.
