Poem – “Backwards Walk to Embrace” – Modern Romanticism – 1/11/2022

Stir the eyes
that roam, the hands
that see
the plain view
of something Somatic.

Entertain with nights
of naked breast,
open arms, closed caress.

Wipe tears from bandaged eyes.

Wait for me as I fall from skies.

Your arms were never smoother,
while our oceans are calm.

I retreated from winter,
in its decay.
With entrance to your fire,
I return to stay.
