Poem – “Eyes upon a Downstream” – Modern Romanticism – 1/13/2022

Send soldiers to her.
Pull her
from tragic ruins.
Leave the sparks.

Water and laughter
runs the same breath
from her shattered lungs.

Wake me
upon the smile
I recognize.

Hand in hand, –

a dance to create the colors.

Fire, with desire
Holds her, at the tower,
threatens closure.

Send those knights.
Keep her life
from taking the brisk walk
overboard.
