Poem – “Pass your Gaze” – Modern Romanticism – 1/18/2022

Find me
crying with eyes open.
Put to sleep
all fears, all sensation
that counted our moments
into bright heat.

You might cry
with the sun
kissing your eyes.
You may wonder why
love did not grow its flowers
when our gaze was lowered.

You could try
to embrace silence,
within the earth.

Pass your gaze.
Give your torch
as it forces me to empathize,
molding me
to agonize.

Silence, radiance
with the force of a flame
to splinter flesh into ashes.

You will fly
with the sun to sail your wings.
Tears are bleeding years
with the Hell
wrapped around your scars,
as the softness
to cushion where you fell.
