Poem – “Hold in No More” – 8/8/2025

One last time
for sentiment
to be trapped in,
as this effort
has been keeping
this home as hollow
as the breaths
being released
into the wind.

Exhaustion
provides these lungs
with all the toil,
as I eventually
have staged a retreat
back to a place
I won’t be smothered.

All will be told
among the colors,
when letters are drawn
onto infinite sands.

The sun presents
for a heart,
the one that held back,
its gleam to redeem.

I am remade
for what I am,
on this rediscovered,
vast roadway.

Life gifts the smile,
well-deserved
in its entrance, to stay
for the better while.
