Stars dot a journey
upon an endless debate
over whether to dine
on the darkness,
or the light.
In looking up,
I’ve seen shadows forming
from nowhere,
taking over everywhere,
once I level my sight.
There’s a stellar avenue
where I’m breathing.
Hurricanes are caused
because of how
I can’t slow my pace,
can’t find grace.
In looking down,
there are oncoming waves
threatening to drown me
in tears I never knew
I’ve released.
I’ve sent letters
onto the tragic flow
that I know.
I’ve been waking
to collateral sounds
on unsteady grounds.
