Inhibition
turns our impulses
onto themselves,
these inborn urges
having no place
on the expectation
of tomorrow.
Blank canvases
filled with ripened color,
decorations given
to plain rooms,
under a pulse’s power
a chime in the wind,
of hearts to hold.
Wrapped in music
as the message
of valued patience
forms a broad discovery
of who we were
beneath layers,
to craft a center.
We’re anticipating
everything to continue,
fixing leaks,
replacing the gray
with vibrant hues,
to be renewed.
We’re handling ecstasy
with pairs of steady hands,
arming our minds
with what others have
left behind,
bringing it forward.
