Tears can fall
for so long
to fill up gaps
we were to reign in,
to hear our heartbeats
up close and personal.
It’s a moment
to decide
what to revise
on a page
where we pledged
a storm to fill out
all the spaces.
A time has come
to rebuild
on a drained sea,
from a dried face
without a trace
of what once died
on the inside.
Bringing the pieces
to make a boat,
to cage our light
in velvet dark.
Singing our graces
unspoken for eons,
while we were sinking
in lasting loneliness.
