Deliberate unease
has unfurled you,
with blackened wings
settled among winds,
blending in with
unchanging scenery.
You’ve burned
through your
bottomless abyss,
landing a kiss
upon the first stone
you’ve found.
What you have
for memories
are what you lead
within reveries.
Who you refuse
within such tears
you let loose
keeps you guessing.
Warmth can come
from a simple gesture
to head into
a lighthouse’s
bold, oncoming rays.
You’ve mistook
love for tyranny
to be devoted
to bleaker roses
in a garden of ebony.
