Such darkness
had nowhere
for you to hide.
Yet, it had one direction
for me to run.
It was where light
knew to be,
always knows why
it is valued.
Among an arrangement
where infinity
cannot be counted,
you weren’t able
to be described.
I’d run out
of words to use.
Or I’d suffocate
upon desperation,
forgetting to breathe.
Among that void,
you flickered,
like a ghost
in the fog.
You went somewhere
I can’t be,
for some time.
I’ll take the time
to remind myself
about why.
These coming years
are disguised
in a dream,
are drowned in reasons
about as countless
as those stars,
before you were
the final one to fade.
