Heaven’s little whirlwind,
You steal joy
From the mercy of others
Who sought to lift you
Above their own strength,
And see you in length.
A form, so splendid,
And eyes, so much marveled, in the chase
Upon all Hellish ways
That Heaven cannot live without.
I have found what is beneath the flame,
And it is what you hide.
For you burn away cloth,
And I see the flesh, molten and strewn,
In the dimming sun.
I have found what they put away.
I have found what they knew to stay
As Heaven’s little whirlwind.
We are all beneath you,
You cradled joy.
