“A Tear Bathed in Black” – Poem

By

Run along, now,

Tear, from a different edge,

From an eye drenched in a cosmetic,

From an eye given shelter, beneath the shade of a ceiling.

Run along, now,

With the black trickle down your cheek,

To your barren neck.

Run away with the tide, the storm,

That will appear as black as the shadow,

Beneath your eye,

Beneath your frozen stare.

I sought to offer you the love from where I stood,

Turns out I missed,

Governed by a different, more unstable emotion,

Being fear.

Run along with all your tears!

And come back,

To pollute every ocean,

With the blackness.
