Poem – “You Feel the Love?” – Romance – 4/11/2020

You feel the rope
Wrapped around your feet?
You feel the eyes
Pouring a stare upon your hands
While all you hold
Are the tears, from the night?

Do you feel the love
Breathing over you,
Bleeding beloved?

Do you feel the burn
Of my arms
Against your cold skin?

I grew to be your King,
My darling woman,
So that I may set you on the sails,
To set your scent upon the winds,
To set your lips upon my own,
Falling against the empty world.

You feel the love
That sickens and grows?
You feel the love
That runs along with the snow?
You feel the pain
We’ve both yearned to taste?

I want to breathe
Still more.
