Poem – “Blue-Running Tears” – Romance – 8/24/2020

Lift your laughter
To the delight of God.
He has made you raised
By the years clean of your fears.
He has made you rigid,
By no more weeping to smooth your cheeks.

Let this rope
Be tied about your feet.
Let these stains
Shape your newest design.
Let this sun
Clear your mouth from screams.

Are you weeping?
Are you seeping?
Are you creating
What we both can see?
Are you wearing
What we both can lose?

Your garments have been set aflame,
As I
Will remain
To kiss the tears that run so slow
Down your ivory cheeks.
I run a mile of bridge for you to catch,
For you to walk,
For you to spark a freeway from your mind.
