Poem – “This Leaf Decays Faster” – Romance – 9/7/2020

Water the iron
In your blood.
Mix your tears
With the sound happiness,
For a few forgotten bottles
Of your craved sympathies.
So much distance remains
For your drinking mouth.

Lift your dreams
To the velvet moon.
You are the leaf that decays faster
In winter.

Fresh are the lakes you create,
By tears that leave swollen eyes.
Salted are the oceans you create,
By the toil you take upon two hands.

Your future
Faces the blanketed past.
I am in your mouth,
To speak words down your hollow throat.
I am the echo that never returns,
Never to surrender another moment
To the waiting you,
As you are starving.

Lower yourself
To see the sunset,
More than to raise yourself
To see the sunrise.
