Poem – “As you are Mine” – Romanticism – 12/26/2020

Surges of jealousy,
Heartwarming anatomy,
Fields where lust blooms open
Your legs in the brush.
Faces that stay in my mind,
Not of mine.

They held you
Deep in arms covered by soot.

Wild, as you are
The woman of my tears.
I fold a curtain about your arms,

To hold you where miles are certain.

Kisses and brave guesses,
Blood and wedding dresses,
Beauty that needs no moment
To count of each corrected flaw.

I love you,
Even while under the Earth,
Even to your very birth
In my arms, above the moon,
The sun,
When the dirt beneath my feet
Shatters.
