Poem – “Too Important to Lose” – Romanticism – 1/7/2021

You are
Every moment mattering,
Against the distant chimes,
The bells
For the sake of time
That quits to a departure
Of life against its toll,
The knell.

Can life pour in
As the light, so sacred
That the cold might melt
While the wind

Carries me, with you in these arms
That have discarded piloted dreams
Through the echoing dark?

A chamber in these oceans,
A round in this fire,
While arms circle about
Your uneven temple
In the bedroom of where we
Bandage holes
Of a heart that was shot.
