Poem – “Laying you to Rest” – Romanticism – 1/26/2021

Dearest agony
You’ve clung to,
Of brambles and thicket,
To thorns for their burial
In your
Porcelain flesh.

I wipe an eye
Free from a tear,
Stretching a new sound
To where you might hear
Love erasing a mile
To your labor.

I offer up
Dreams, for your drinking.
If lift you
To new radiance,
Before a milk-white sun,
And the golden moon.

See things as they’ve never been,
With your heart
Falling in reverse
To the clouds, where are
My arms.
I wish yourself to breathe
Transparent, new dreams.
