Poem – “I cannot Bury what I Feel” – Romanticism – 2/4/2021

I can bury what I feel,
Though the ocean crosses so much.
So much hurt,
Without the heart to bury a face.

Fading
With songs outstretched

On the complacent shore.
She would echo a note
For embracing arms,
Yet silence has fallen like a curtain
Over the final breath.

My eyes sting
Without the salt to spray them.
I keep close to pain

In the hope, that one day
I find the rays
Where Spring comes mourning.

Of sadness upon the fading currents,
Of brokenness upon the cresting waves,
There is much to behold
Of no realm for my true escape.
