Poem – “A Heart Cloaked in Ebony” – Romanticism – 2/26/2021

Blossomed
Crater,
Full of smog to renewal
Of eyes, in Mother Earth
Who cries
A tear, left to be ignored.

A heart
Driven to find Spring
In the deepest shapes,
The broadest colors,
Capturing sublime decadence
Beyond the curtain
To the everything, within.

Call her near,
Mother Earth who sinks in Winter,
That she might see her scenery
Arranged in hair,
Ringed on fingers
Withered to the fate of dismissal.

Keep not her beneath,
Though let her rise
Beyond bristles and thorns
To the Heavens of flowing gardens
Braided by every curl,
Seeded to every twirl.
