Poem – “For the Sake of Everywhere” – Romanticism 3/9/2021

Piano keys,
A remembrance of everywhere
Where steps could have walked,
Teeming bright
On the slow strides
Atop hard sand.

Without a smile
To stay us afloat,
Bleeding within our eyes
Without a bucket, for a rope
To measure the distance
Downwards.

Tender heart
And broken heart,
Faceless meanderings
To the state of understanding.
Love has been the vessel
On the open, soft ocean,
As eyes are blinded by dust
From watery graves.

Wasted smiles,
Bleeding for miles
Across deserts and canyons,
Loveless sights
That take us nowhere.
