Poem – “She Waited in the Rain” – Romanticism – 3/17/2021

Hollowed out
Of her heart, in the everlasting web
That bleeds out the iron
For tracks laid,
With screams buried.

Funneling shame through a puddle
Where memories live
By a circular ripple
Extending for a mile,
That the train can come sailing.

Station storms
Where it rains in her heart
Among all the notes
Played for the pain of days,
All within the waiting years.

One playful splash
To a second that stings the eyes,
To the third moment of brutality
Where faces
Are as memorable as the dust.
