Poem – “Walking towards your Eyes” – Love Poetry – 3/18/2021

Simple smile
With no funeral for the setting
Of parted souls
Who kept escaping
To futures, concealed in the eyes,
Peeled back of identity.
While she yearned,
I gave her a turn
To be final, with me.

Before the world swallows
Our echoes
For the cries of the other,
Haven’t we only loved?

Before we scream
In our closet of shadows,
Caressing rose-tinted cheeks,
Haven’t we only loved?

Despairing
In the seat for the depraved,
A smile is all I enter,
With lips that cave
To the silent kiss to give you,
As worlds might awake
At its missing sunrise.
