Poem – “You are Stardom” – Modern Romanticism – 12/22/2021

You are the dust in my eyes,
the water that never flows
until I let go.

You were the shore of eternal grain.
Countless, until you became
caught in the eye
that leaks light.

You were one beside the moon.
You are none,
as I follow gloom.

Why has this mirror shattered?

From white to the void,
erased into the dark
with infinite flakes of snow
to lose you.

How far did the river flow?

Where is the star that
brought the lake close?

How can I reenter so deep
without leaving you to leak?
