Poem – “Then, Hold Forever” – Modern Romanticism – 4/12/2022

Find your passage
between delicate verse,
to ride your way
to those arms you reach for,
as if the bottle of warmth.

Blissful. In your approach,
all the world crashes
into empty fragments.

In your approach.
Then, hold forever
while the world fails us,
raining itself into abandonment.

Without reproach.
Then, hold forever.
Scar yourself upon the weather,
the cloud with an inch-long curve.
Your nail buried deep.

Encase yourself. Drown yourself
in the burial of us.
Lost deep, kept to weep
all the contents of our hearts
from our eyes.

Then, hold forever,
while merging together,
without sever.
