Poem – “A Passing Blessing” – 5/12/2026

Our entire empire
had its long run,
with tears at its feet,
with our bodies covered
in fallen snow.

Finally. The spell ended
its incomplete phase.
We carefully move away
into another timeline,
where words won’t be
prayers for our fight.

Submission helps
to see the sunset.
Failure aids
the mind’s recognition
of the evidence
it can abandon.

We’ve split the road,
the same with the bill,
the price to pay
to be on our way.

I’m reinforcing my wall,
remembering what will
be my sole call
to this side.

Just your memory
will stand tall,
but it’ll never be
overshadowing me.
