“Your Eyes, your Smile” – Poem

Your eyes,

Your smile,

After we’ve talked

For the while,

Shows signs you’ve given in

To my seduction.

Was it the tone?

Was it the way I smoothed you down to size?

Which way did you submit?

Your tragedies

Of a past life,

Are histories, written in books inside your mind.

Shall we kiss,

Beneath this bliss

Of hazy skies, so we’ll be further entranced

In our dance

With each’s arms?

Love is still waiting

Upon a bed,

Where no nightmares, but dreams,

Have been there in our stead.
