Poem – “Adieu, Dear Love” – Romance – 9/4/2020

I lean back on the shore
To count the imprints of crutches,
To trace the tracks of wheels,
Marking the stage of my crippled state.
Her kiss blew out my flame,
Her tears fell to cause
The final stain.

I love
Without sympathy.
I fly from her
With fire to my wings.

There is no grace
In this brutal face of mine.
There is no space
Upon the ocean where the waves remain tall.

Remember me,
Upon the twisting currents.
Surrender me,
When your shoulders send off the weight.
I am a blossom too thickened
By overwatering
Of my tears,
Brought down through my fears.
Sting me
Oh, poison of an ivy.
