Poem – “Until the World no Longer wants Us” – Romance – 11/4/2020

What is lost
Besides the shadows
On the waves of our light,
Above oceans so thin
Waking ourselves, from within?

We have fought the fires
With the tears from our eyes,
Singing praises
With our gazes,
Sending signals to planets, unknown
By the ocean to each velvet moon
That commend their sobering parent.

Your heat
Is a resemblance
Of what drowns the waves
In the leaks of my heart,
As sickness is to every scar,
Holding healing where futures
Are condescending.

What is found
From above, where stars melt down
Like eyes that were never discovered,

Is the pain to be remembered.
