Poem – “Each Petal to your Grace” – Romanticism – 12/12/2020

Leave your tears
To step over,
As your heart takes shelter
In arms, warm with your longing,
Sharing your sadness
By each gape of your mouth.

I hold a hand to your dust,
The angel wings that will not lift,
That you might shed
For another mile.

Evoke your freedom
With the pieces of your ruin,
There is much to love,
Of yourself, in the grain.

I place each wasted petal
An orchid had descended,
To the spots where bliss
Becomes arranged.

Nothing so deep
As your heart, behind the curtain
Can call my darkened complexion,
My winter of kisses
To match the absence
Of your light.
