Poem – “The Skies, so Silent” – Romanticism – 12/13/2020

Hidden raindrops,
The countless currents
Resplendent in the eyes,
Awakened with the sun.
I am in your gaze
As just a picture, missing its frame,
Just a man, without his name.

Just a bruise with nothing meant
To cover the inward wound,
For I have lost myself in the sand
When giving treatment
To your birth
Upon the bloody shore.

Holding hands
With the ever-growing might
Of this hailing journey,
Away from sunlight
Into the privacy of the darkest moments,
Where wounds can be seen
Under curtains, so deep.

You are the memory,
Taken notice,
A simple word dropped
From a pair of painted lips,
As I remain this canvas
Of no protection.
