Poem – “On the Tyrant’s Shore” – Romanticism – 12/16/2020

He has stepped
Face after deception
Of curve,
To smiles, never genuine.
He has lost his ego
With the strength
Through trembling hands.
The building of empires,
Gone rotten.

How much detachment
Can surface the fish,
Settling its scales upon the curve
To the tyrant’s shore?

How many wishes
Become frozen,
Within the birth of life’s own freedom,
As tyranny becomes adored?

Oh, where love shall hold shape,
Straight as no curve,
Labelled as no one adored
But the woman with a sea of her own.
