Poem – “Welcoming your Beauty” – Romanticism – 12/27/2020

Great numbers
To your fallen debris,
Masking the entire blue
Ocean in your heart.
Concealed by the rose petals
Held in your hands,
Over your chest
Where memories are mere seeds
To sprout a future
None have seen.

Something remains,
Something always remains
In a heart, quieted by stones,
Hushed by a fate beneath
A sea of dirt,
Above where you hurt.

Oh, love,
How quickly you have felt
The many traces,
Bleeding among the faces
Who saw you no more
Than an angel of dust.

How you would like
To loosen bandage after strip
Of faded concealment,
As newest tears come rising
From a heart
That bled for everything.
