Poem – “We are Forever” – Romanticism – 12/29/2020

To count the stars,
We are forever,
In arms wide as the sea
Can scrawl a deep shape
Of us two,
As we burn through our own

We raise
Porcelain atop ebony,
Discovering light in the eclipse,
Finding words where can be none
In the surrender of a void,
To the entrance of eternity.

My love,
How the world has clung
To the deep-blue waters
And ever-grey skies,
Holding hope in the ashes,
Feeling sadness during sunrise.

Hold down your loathing,
Your tears in the white
Moment, where faces become one,
As signs turn towards us,
As we leak a signal
That we fade with the dusk,
When the final clock stops ticking.
