Poem – “Hope Defines Hope” – Romanticism – 1/9/2021

Love can open wings,
Not the jar of jealousy.
The remaining steps,
Too broken to follow
On seasonal endings,

Where comes the pain
Of imagining.

We bleed
Though, we do not die,
When all is said,
Though, we do not cry.
A face is all it takes
To mimic the side
That said,
“I, too, wish to hide.”

Layered by brokenness,
A fever comes to welcome us,
A sadness comes to remember us
As we once were,
Not who we can become.
