Poem – “My Desperate Attempt” – Romanticism – 1/10/2021

My desperate attempt
To keep you covered
In the bandages peeled from my heart,

To keep you warm,
To never see you frown,
Once more
In the limelight.

Oh, beauty of forever,
By my side,
Upon this great night,
Hold this outstretched hand
That trembles,
So weakly quivers
To keep you near.

My desperate attempt
To keep you unclogged
Of memories
Too negative to be the positive escape

To where comfort deepens you
Down to its caress.

My loving attempt
To never see you fall,
To never allow you to sink
Cannot be
Fraught with vanity,
When to be, open for sanity.
