As I remember
Flooding wails
Of bitterness to fill a cup,
A song for the days in which
Would never cease,
Harrowing me.
I wilted
As a singular petal,
Driving rain into sleet.
A thought to lose you
Among the loss of myself.
A becoming ruin.
Blood became ivory
On a slope, where nectar
Seemed to remain,
Of a rose
Where red was all to the stage
For set deception,
Sowing the sickness
Of a love, with no love.
I allow pain
With its surface
To enter memory’s puddles,
With great healing
To come undone
At the curve of Hell
In an iron heart,
Cold as the dust that settled.
